This non accredited course is a minimum requirement for all food handling personnel working in tourism, hospitality and catering organisations with permanent or temporary kitchen premises, and smaller food preparation or bar areas. All staff working in the food service industry must have completed this course as a minimum standard by 8th December 2023 (See below for details of the changes to state laws).
You may decide in instead complete the accredited version of this course SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety or the advance skill set SITSS00069 Food safety supervisor, both are available as a completely online course through HINSW.
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO FOOD SAFETY LAWS

New changes to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (Standard 3.2.2A) mean that from December 8, 2022 new requirements exist for food service businesses across all Australian states & territories.

These changes impact all businesses that serve or prepare food, including hospitality, food retail, healthcare, child care, aged care and more.
