This course contains a series of short courses designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to work with in a busy hospitality environment and master the skills of a professional bartender. The accredited aspect of the course will ensure you are serving alcohol responsibly and are able to provide gambling support to customers potentially experiencing gambling harm. The course is made up of two Nationally Accredited courses SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol and SITHGAM022 -Provide responsible gambling services, and includes a non-accredited Professional Bartending Masterclass.
SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell or serve alcohol.
Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold or served, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit, therefore, applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold or served, including all types of hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries.
The unit applies to all levels of sales personnel involved in the sale, service and promotional service of alcohol in licensed premises. Those selling or serving alcohol may include food and beverage attendants; packaged liquor sales persons selling in person, over the phone or online; winery, brewery and distillery cellar door staff; and supplier sales representatives. The unit also applies to security staff who monitor customer behaviour and to the licensee who is ultimately responsible for responsible service of alcohol(RSA) management.
SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide responsible gambling services, and to assist those customers who have issues with problem gambling.
Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken. In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues, such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos
SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol
This is an Online Self-Paced course with all learning activities and assessment tasks completed online through our Learner Portal. You can enrol and start your RSA online course at any time. You can study at your own pace and have up to 4 weeks to complete the online RSA course after which your enrolment will expire.
How quickly you complete the course depends on the time it takes you to complete each module including the multiple choice questions, short answer questions and final assessment tasks. You will need to allow a minimum of 6 hours to complete this course.
If your initial 4-week enrolment period is due to expire, you may purchase an additional 4 week extension. This must be conducted within a 6 month period of your course expiring. Refunds are not available if your course expires, unless special circumstances have taken place. Please review our refund policy for further information.
SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services
This course is conducted during a 1 day (7hr) Virtual Workshop, with all learning activities and assessment tasks completed online through our Learner Portal. Prior to the scheduled date and time of the Virtual Workshop, you will be required to complete preliminary reading and answer Knowledge Tests 1 and 2 Once you enrol into the course you will be required to select your preferred date to attend the virtual workshop, the workshop will require that you attend an instructor lead virtual classroom from 9am till 4pm. The virtual workshop will be run through Microsoft Teams and you will be required to attend and engage in the class for the duration of the workshop.
Upon successful completion of all the assessments, you will be awarded your Statement of Attainment & Liquor & Gaming NSW Interim certificate allowing to commence working in a gaming environment immediately.
Upon enrolment, you will have up to 4 weeks to c. If your initial 4-week enrolment period is due to expire, you may purchase an extension for a further 4 weeks. There are no pre-requisites, however, this online RSA course requires sound English language, literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete the course and assessments. For example, students will need to calculate the amount of standard drinks in a range of beverages such as beer, cider, wine, spirits and cocktails.

You can enrol into this course if you have never held an RSA competency card before or if your competency card has expired for longer than 28 days.
SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services
This course requires sound English language, literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete the course and assessments. Please contact us to talk to one of our student support team members if you require any further information.
It is expected that you will have completed the preliminary reading and Knowledge Tests 1 and 2 before entering the Virtual Workshop.
RPL/ Credit Transfer is not available for SITHFAB021 or SITHGAM022. However, if you have completed an RSA or RCG courses and have been deemed Competent within the last five years and your Competency Card is about to expire you are required to complete an RSA + RCG Refresher course. This course can be accessed via the Liquor & Gamming NSW website by going to: NSW Website
If you have completed SITHFAB021 or SITHGAM022 in another state and wish to work in the liquor & gaming industry in NSW you will be required to complete a Bridging course which can be accessed by going to: NSW Website

When completing this course you will be assessed on two individual units of competency:
SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol
This is an Online Self-Paced course with all learning activities and assessment tasks completed online through our Learner Portal.
There are 2 parts to the assessment process:
Part 1 – “Knowledge Assessment Tasks”
Upon enrolling, you are granted access to the Learner portal. In this portal, you will be required to complete the following 2 mandatory areas:
Part 2 – “Performance Evidence Assessment Tasks”
Once you have completed your knowledge tests, you will then be required to the complete the following:
Upon successful completion of the online assessments, you will receive your Interim Certificate within 24 hours, which will allow you to commence your employment serving alcohol. The Interim Certificate is valid for 90 days. During this time, you will need to apply for a NSW Competency Card from Liquor and Gaming NSW.
SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling service
This course contains 2 parts to the assessment process:
Part 1 – “Preliminary Assessment Tasks”
Upon enrolling and selecting the workshop date of your choice, you are granted access to the Learner portal. In this portal, you will be required to complete the following 2 mandatory areas:
Part 2 – “Virtual Workshop Assessment tasks”
Upon enrolling you selected a date for a Virtual workshop. You will be required to attend an instructor led, 7hr Virtual workshop to complete the main assessments for this course. In this workshop you will complete the following tasks (You will not have access to this section prior to the Virtual workshop commencing :
Upon successful completion of the knowledge and practical assessments, you will receive your Statement of attainment from us. Your successful completion will then be lodged with Liquor and Gaming NSW, once lodged you will receive an email from Liquor and gaming NSW with a final quiz for you to complete. Once successfully completing this quiz, you will receive your Interim Certificate within 24hrs. This certificate will allow you to commence working in a gaming venue in NSW.
The Interim Certificate is valid for 90 days. During this time, you will need to apply for a NSW Competency Card from Liquor and Gaming NSW.
Professional Bartending Masterclass (Non-Accredited)
Please note whilst the Professional Bartending Masterclass is a non-accredited course, there are various knowledge skills tests throughout.
SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol
Once a competent mark is awarded, learners will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol and SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services. Both Units of Competency are Nationally Recognised Training from Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package. Certificates are available with in your learner portal upon successful completion of the course.

SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services
Once a competent mark is awarded, learners will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services. This Unit of Competency is Nationally Recognised Training from Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package. Certificates are available with in your learner portal upon successful completion of the course.
